You will split your time between two facilities located in Malibu and Agoura Hills. The midday drive is paid and provides a nice respite -- a chance to regroup before working with a second group of teens. With two centers, you'll also have the opportunity to double your impact. A typical day is 4 hours, but there is some flexibility around start time. Starting pay is $32 - $35 per hour depending on experience. 

Beachside Teen Treatment Center and Hillcrest Adolescent Treatment Center are tranquil, rehabilitation havens for adolescents struggling with addiction, substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. Beachside is a beautiful residential facility based in Malibu, California, with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Hillcrest offers a rustic, yet elegant atmosphere in the tropical foothills of Agoura Hills. Our mission is to provide healing resources for the adolescents we serve. To be a good fit for the Part-Time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) opportunity, you will have:

• Current & active Licensed Vocational Nurse 
• ​At least two years of experience working as an LVN is required, preferably in a mental health treatment setting 
• Knowledge and experience with Medical Assisted Treatment (MAT) and/or Detox 
• Current CPR/First Aid certification
• Experience with KIPU is a plus  
• Outstanding time management skills to balance patient care and complete required daily SOAP notes across two sites
• Good verbal and written communication skills 
• Basic computer skills (i.e., Internet, email, and Microsoft Office applications)
• Ability to travel locally between the two sites (site-to-site travel time is on the clock)

As LVN, you will share your time between our Beachside Teen Treatment Center and Hillcrest Adolescent Treatment Center and play a crucial role in recovery for each of your clients (patients). Daily, you will be responsible for checking in with each teen and doing a SOAP note. You will manage their medications, work with the pharmacy on medication deliveries (all deliveries are to Hillcrest and you will then transfer the required meds to Beachside), schedule lab work, and more. Once per week, you will also run a group at each facility, talking about the nursing topic of your choice. Specifically, you will:

• Complete daily SOAP note and ensure records are maintained in accordance with standards of facility and state regulations. 
• Observe clients, charting and reporting changes in clients' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and taking any necessary action. 
• ​Observe clients self-administering prescribed medication and document appropriately. 
• Communicate with IMS physician and other outside physicians where outside referrals may be indicated. 
• Work with physician and pharmacy to ensure medical/nursing/medication concerns are reported and problems resolved. 
• Input Doctor's Orders and Medication Protocols in EMR.
• Schedule clients' appointments with the psychiatrist, Dietician, EMDR therapist, etc., send the zoom link to the 3rd party and ensure the client is in the room ready for the appointment at the designated time. 
• Provide training and supervision of clients to support non-clinical staff as it relates to detox and medication protocols. 
• Measure and record clients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration. 
• Perform inventory check and maintenance of nursing supplies and OTC medication supplies. 
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and CARF standards. 
• Fully understand and maintain policies & procedures regarding professional ethics, confidentiality, and healthy boundaries. 
• Fully understand our medication management policy and infection control protocol.
