To be a good fit for the Psychiatric Technician opportunity, you will have:
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in roles involving interacting with people; experience in mental health care and/or social services is preferred but not required.
  • Compassion and a genuine desire to work with the population served.
  • A collaborative, patient and understanding approach along with a willingness to be assertive as necessary.
  • The ability to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to accomplish daily tasks with minimal supervision, as well as a team-player mindset.
  • A track record of reliability and punctuality.

  • A valid California driver's license and the ability to pass and maintain a clean driving record check (MVR) per company standards.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • A CNA or bachelor's degree in Psychology or another related field is a plus.

Reporting to the Program Administrator, you will join a team of about 10 Psychiatric Technicians and be responsible for providing rehabilitative support regarding the care of a co-occurring population. You'll ensure that clients and staff have what they need to follow the lead of the Clinical Director and Program Director.

Here is a sampling of your specific responsibilities:
  • Responsible for conducting client intake/discharge inventories and documenting all items in the EMR system.
  • Provide line-of-sight supervision to clients throughout your shift.
  • Provide and facilitate educational and support groups assigned and promptly document these activities in the client’s records.
  • Strive to increase professional growth and effectiveness through completing all required trainings in a timely fashion.
  • Provides crisis intervention services when authorized and necessary.
  • Maintain active participation with the clients at all times.
  • Prepare and monitor medication self-administration, documenting all details in EMR.
  • Document clients’ daily activities, unusual behavior, and pertinent information in EMR.
  • Communicate with fellow Psych Techs, Therapists, Nurse, and Program Director, on an ongoing basis.
